GREEK YELLOW PAGES

DATA CENTER INFRASTRUCTURE

Greek Yellow Pages has been known for 47 years for its printed catalog, while it has turned to Digital for several years now. With over 3.8 million unique visitors per month at xo.gr and with more than 7 million visits to the site per month, it continues to bring together consumers and businesses.

The implementation of Algosystems for Greek Yellow Pages was based on Cisco’s integrated Datacenter proposal, Cisco Unified Computing System, a next-generation Data Center platform.

The implementation included Cisco Nexus Datacenter switches, the necessary L3 and SAN options for LAN and SAN, and Cisco Fabric Interconnect switches that form the server interface between them and the outside world and provide the solution with the Cisco UCS Manager management environment. Also, a Cisco UCS Blade Center system suitable for the infrastructure of computer systems and resources and a central data storage system.

The implementation of the Fabric Interconnect interface with Nexus switches was based on multiple 10G interfaces, while all systems are managed through Cisco UCS Manager.

With this integrated solution, the footprint of Datacenter was reduced, all operating procedures were simplified while it has gained momentum for future growth. An approximately 25% reduction in operating costs has been achieved while the virtualized unified UCS environment brought other benefits to the areas of disaster recovery and business continuity and productivity improvements.

BUSINESS CONTINUITY

Greek Yellow Pages has selected Microsoft DPM as a backup system for its data.

Algosystems undertook the design and implementation of the Microsoft DPM2012 Backup at Greek Yellow Pages on a physical Server, while FC technology storage systems (storage, tape libraries) were also used as storage spaces.

With the above implementation, data were fully secured according to customer’s needs.
