DevOps Engineer (Mid Senior Level)
We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and experienced DevOps Engineer. The candidate must have the adequate know-how to carry out activities required to achieve continuous deployment and integration for in-house solutions of a large-scale multinational established banking institution.
The successful candidate will join a DevOps team based in Athens. The team works towards developing, operating, instrumenting and improving the full stack of the institution’s software delivery mechanism. The role is dependent on communication, all members of the team are working together to ensure smooth operation. The organization is developing in short sprints so that the code is always in a deployable state.
The team’s main focus areas are:
- Shorter Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR)
- Less disruptive feature releases
- Improved time to market
Key responsibilities:
- Gathering and compiling sources from a code management repo, packaging it up and deploying it
- Building an application by developing scripts orchestrated by a build tool
- Develop maintain and improve existing DevOps pipeline
- Troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline issues
- Produce and communicate quality data for the service offered
- Collection of statistics, evaluation, and other instrumentation activities
Core competencies and knowledge:
- Deep knowledge in Linux Operating Systems administration
- Redhat linux expertise is a plus
- Experienced applying CI/CD with Jenkins is preferred, alternatively the candidate should be at least proficient with other DevOps tools
- Familiar with Redhat Openshift and/or Kubernetes operations and automation
- Understanding and Securely Using APIs
- Bash scripting experience
- Solid programming background in Java EE
- Git version-control system
- Create REST API requests over HTTPS to securely integrate services
- Familiar with Apache Groovy
- Define and embed consistent methodologies, driving improvements where issues are identified
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a wide range of strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in virtual teams, in local and international level
Professional qualifications and working experience
- Two (2) years working experience in Telecommunications or Computer Systems and Internet Services or related industry, with main responsibilities in the deployment of applications and/or software delivery automation.
- University level degree in computer science, communication engineering, electronic engineering or very closely related to computer science/engineering.
- Proficient Greek Language Speaker.
- Business level English Language speaker (oral and written).
